In 2013, she placed first in two categories in the Dixie Kane Memorial Contest: Single Title Contemporary Romance and Short/Long Contemporary Romance.Peggy is a contemporary romance author who writes about strong women, the families who support them, and the men who can't live without them.

Her current titles, available now, include "Skater's Waltz" and "There's no Place Like Home," books one and two in her six-book The MacQuire Women Series, published by The Wild Rose Press.

Tying into her love of families, her children's book, " The Kindness Tales," was illustrated by her artist mother-in-law.

A lifelong and avid romance reader and writer, she is a member of RWA and her local New Hampshire RWA Chapter.
But today, we're here to talk about her latest release, "First Impressions." This is RELEASED TODAY! Here's a little about the book:

Family Practice Doctor Clarissa Rogers’s first impression of Padric Cleary is biased and based on gossip. The handsome, charming veterinarian is considered a serial dater and commitment-phobic by his family and most of the town. Relationship shy, Clarissa refuses to lose her heart to a man who can’t pledge himself to her forever.

Pat Cleary, despite his reputation, is actually looking for The One. When he does give his heart away, he wants it to be for life. With his parent’s marriage as his guidebook, he wants a woman who will be his equal and soul mate in every way. Can Pat convince everyone – including Clarissa – she’s the only woman for him?

Featuring Author Barbara Barrett

Today, I'm featuring author Barbara Barrett. Help me welcome Barbara to QueenWriter News...

Barbara spent her professional career as a human resources analyst for Iowa state government, and that training has stayed with her in her writing of contemporary romance fiction. Now retired, Barbara spends her winters basking in the Florida sunshine and returns to her home state of Iowa in the summer to “stay cool.” Married to the man she met her senior year at the University of Iowa, they have two grown children and seven grandchildren. "Seduction on Wheels" is her sixth romance novel published by The Wild Rose Press and her second in the Matchmaking Motor Coach series. Her previous works include: "And He Cooks Too," "Driven to Matrimony," "Saved by the Salsa," "The Sleepover Clause," and "Tough Enough to Tango."

About "Seduction on Wheels"

When her ex-husband calls her frigid, Jenna DiFranco takes some incredible risks to prove her sexuality, including picking up men in bars. Realizing her behavior is unsafe and irrational and finding herself facing several days on the road alone with Gray McKenna, she makes him promise not to respond to her overtures.
Years ago, Gray swore off serious relationships with women, but that hasn’t stopped him from casual hook-ups. From the moment he meets her, he recognizes Jenna as trouble, the kind of woman who wants permanence in a relationship. The kind of woman to avoid.

But the promise and Gray’s resolve don’t stand a chance when close confinement, personal revelations, and Jenna’s need to prove she still has it ignite their mutual attraction.
